Taking just under half a days time over a two day period, the Planner erected the outside subframes for the shipping container boxes.  Why are you asking yourself did it take so long?  Just one word for you:  Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy.

The subframes were built with only inches to spare.  No fudge room.  No give room.  Only precision.  Ensuring the subframes were exactly where they supposed to be required them to be checked for “square and plum” over and over again. Once in place, the option of removing to fix errors becomes damned near impossible. It better to place, tack, square, and plum. Over and over until correct.

However, as with all things measured there is always a chance for misreads.  Remember my rant about the 1″ mark?  Well, do you notice how the blue lines are not centered within the footing plate?  This mistake, as it was discovered, was due to the inaccuracy of using a cloth tape.  Cloth tape has stretching ability.  It was not a misread but an error on incorrect tool usage.  Another example of getting the job done correctly requires the usage of correct tools.

In a few months when the footings for the house are laid out, a steel tape will be used.  No fudge room.  No give room.  Hopefully, only precision.
