Run Chicken Run_Part One
Good grief, because there’s nothing going on the Planner and the Kid decided to ready a plot for a garden. Seriously, sometimes I don’t know about these two.
Thinking the ground could be turned by pitchfork resulted in two things, a tired Kid and a broken pitchfork. Guess handed down tools don’t last forever. As it was only the handle that broke and a new handle was not readily available, the Planner finished the job with the tractor.
Once done with that sudden idea of fun, the Planner and Kid started working on the chicken run. As the peepers are now 1.5 months old and growing quickly, I don’t expect the 4×8 coop to last long. They need to spread their wings and fly. Yes, it really had to be said.
Piers were dug, 4×4 weather treated posts were tamped into place, and a string line with level was used to ensure squareness. No, my head did not need to be squared. The sassiness level at this house sometimes….. Everyone thinks they are a comedian.
Not much was accomplished this week as time was spent preparing for tomorrow’s work. However, these beyond CUTENESS peepers were seen at a chain feed store in the next town over this evening. Bantam peepers. How I managed not to buy one of these mini peepers (the size of a marshmallow peep) is still a mystery. Next year.
