Bedroom Knob Fun

Poor bedroom. Every project started was never finished without stopping at least once. Some projects were started and stopped two or three times before the project was completed. Wall shiplap was started in May but the last three sections were not completed until August. Window trim was started in August and not completed until December. Cabinet was started in June, hung in place in August, and had drawers and door started in December. Now here it is the end of February and the cabinet is finally completed. 100%. Think this is the first inside project that has been fully completed. Not one single miniscule step is missing.

Way back last year sometime during the bedroom being painted and bedroom cabinets having their drawer slides installed the Planner sanded and applied four layers of shellac to the bedroom door. Poor door, bet it had feelings of unwant as it has been sitting against the wall since the Doubter came back in June. Six months of working around the door wishing it was installed. Door started in December and completed in the middle of January.

Bedroom cabinet doors have been in place since New Year’s Eve at 830pm, the drawers in place since the middle of January. Painted doors were started, completed, and hung before Valentines day. Cayenne, the first Sherwin Williams color that was not winter related. It matches the orange in the comforter perfectly. I know what you are thinking, the bedroom is supposed to painted with warm colors to relax. Red and Orange are energy colors. Trust me when I say pictures do not do justice. Cayenne orange is very dark and soothing and when seen at night they make the room even darker.

After three weeks of waiting, the cabinet knobs finally arrived. Unlike the pantry knobs they are not used and are shiny with no feelings. However, they are whimsical and match the energy of the room so I could not refuse them. Almost black in color, brown twisted leaves offered some levity to the intensity of the reddish orange cabinets. Warm, inviting, serene. Cayenne orange looks even better with the tan blanket. Now I really have to decide on curtains.
